The Tesh and the Sevateem, newly reconciled and embracing peace, nominated Leela, a warrior of the Sevateem, as their leader. Horrified at the prospect, she forced her entry into the TARDIS, preferring danger and adventure with the Doctor. His constant attempts to civilise this knife-weilding savage clad in animal skins were largely frustrated. Her 'if in doubt, kill it' mentality often drove him to distraction. Paradoxically it was Leela's instinct and prowess with virtually any weapon which often proved his salvation.
