Alastair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, Commanding Officer of the British section of UNIT. A no-nonsense military man, he first met the Doctor during the Yeti invasion as the colonel and has remained a steadfast, through often bemused, friend through four of the Doctor's incarnations.
